The Functions
the specific functions of this integumentary system are Nutritional support, Immune surveillance,Thermal regulation,Wound healing, Homeostasis and Inflammation
When the body temperature rises the dermal blood vessels dilate and sweat glads secrete. when the body temperature gets low the dermal blood vessels constrict and sweat glands remain inactive. Body temperature is regulated by dilation and constriction of blood vessels.
To contain a portion of the bodies blood supply the blood vessels of the dermis can dilate.

Frostbite -_-
When the temperature gets too low the blood vessels close to the skin start to constrict as way to keep warm. when the body is exposed to the cold for a long period this method can reduce blood flow to some areas of the body. these are dangerously low levels that it results int he freezing and death of the skin tissue in the effected area. This is how frostbite occurs on the body.
To treat frostbite, physicians, wrap the frostbitten victim in blankets to warm them and/or move them to a warm environment. also they may put the frostbitten part into warm water to help the blood flow increase and move back to the core. if there is infection or gas gangrene in the frostbitten area amputation may be necessary.

Raynauds disease
raynauds is a disease that causes some areas of the body such as fingers ,toes, tip of your nose, and ears to feel numb or cool from cool temperatures or stress. When an episode occurs the victim will feel a numb cool feeling in the effected area. the episodes are caused by being stressed out and or cold temperatures. About 5% of the U.S. population has raynauds. avoiding the things that trigger the symptoms of raynauds is really the only way to prevent these episodes from happening. treatments involve a change in lifestyle, using medicines, and rarely surgery.

Heat!! Heat!!! Heat!!!!
a heat stroke is a form of hypothermia in which the body temperature is elevated
dramatically. Heat exhaustion is when the body gets too hot and your body becomes overwhelmed and your body starts to produce more heat than it can release.Heat exhaustion is caused when people exercise or work in a hot area when their bodies are not used to it.
Heat strokes are usually caused by being in a hot environment and becoming dehydrated.
In order to prevent heat exhaustion and heat strokes, when out in the sun don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink. you should drink a lot of fluids. stay in cools areas on hot days, avoid drinking alcohol, and wear light lose fitting clothes.
